Downar Bird Farm-2Wyokiddo and I spent a few days in Colorado Springs this week visiting my sister and her family.  It was a whirlwind of a week, with trips to the zoo, a wave pool, the North Pole and Build-a-Bear.  I even managed to eat a meal at my favorite chain restaurant, P.F. Chang’s.

It’s fun to spend some time in another place and enjoying those things you can only find in a big city.  The curly-haired dynamo had an absolute blast playing with her aunt, uncle and big cousin.

But four days of people, traffic, city noise and sharing a bed with a 4-year old left me tired and weary.  It was a wonderful feeling to pull into the bird farm.  After the spectacular, colorful sunset and gentle rain shower we received last night, I’m pretty sure this place missed me, too.
